Golf in Daytona Beach
is just a click away
Daytona Beach is well-known as the home of NASCAR's most prestigious
race.
The coastal town is also a solid golf destination with plenty of courses
to
choose from. Brian Hunicke, director of GolfDaytonaBeach.com, quickly
discussed how his office can help you find the right places to tee it
up.
TG: What does your bureau do for golfers?
Hunicke: Golf Daytona Beach sets up golf vacation
packages for incoming visitors to the Daytona Beach area. We
have 30 hotels and 20 golf courses to choose from.
TG: Tell us about some of the best golf values in
your area?
Hunicke: Daytona Beach is known for it's economical
golf packages. With a wide range of courses and hotels, it is
easy to find a great deal at any time during the year.
TG: What are the biggest challenges facing your
area's golf and tourism scene and how have you dealt with
them?
Hunicke: One of the main challenges has been getting
golfers out of their hotels and on to the golf courses in the
summer. Some visitors think that it is too hot to play in the
summer months. Our opinion, anywhere in Florida, is that it is
warm, but that in Daytona Beach an afternoon breeze from the
Atlantic Ocean helps keep the temperature comfortable.
TG: What's the future of golf and tourism in your
city?
Hunicke: Endless amount of opportunity and we will
always have great affordable golf packages. The area is quickly
becoming known as a great golf destination and has been voted
in the top 15 places to play by Golf Digest.
